Introducing 14+1 Email Security

We’ve been busy on the email security front. This month we rolled out the IT Audit Labs 14+1, a structured assessment that runs Harmony Complete in monitoring mode inside your Microsoft 365 or G-Suite environment for 14 days. Two 30-minute sessions, no disruption, no blocking. The findings have been eye-opening. In one recent review, 18 phishing emails slipped past both the native platform and an existing third-party tool, and a file containing suspected SSNs and driver’s license numbers was being shared externally through an anonymous link the customer didn’t know existed.

If you’re curious what your current stack might be missing, the 14+1 is built to show you.

Strengthen Your MFA

Attackers are finding ways around basic MFA, so prioritize stronger options like number matching, passkeys, or security keys.

Action: Review one critical system this month and confirm MFA is enabled and phishing-resistant.

This Month in Cybersecurity From the IT Audit Labs Blog

Speaking of email security – Eric’s latest blog is live. He breaks down why the real threat has shifted from attachments and bad links to Business Email Compromise and thread hijacking, the attacks that ride inside legitimate conversations, pass every authentication check, and reach finance before anyone notices. He covers where gateways like Proofpoint still earn their keep, where API-native tools like Abnormal and Check Point Harmony pull ahead, and how to think about the right fit for your size and operating model. Worth the read.
